Half of the 2022 is over. It is time for a quarterly review.

Another quarter is gone, and we have completed two out of four quarters this year.

It is hard to believe, but we have completed six months of 2022 already. Time is flying.

It is time to think about your accomplishments, most memorable moment, best lessons, and who you are grateful for.

It is time for a quarterly review. It is a time to reflect on what we have accomplished and plan to do during the remaining two quarters. A weekly, monthly and quarterly review is one of the most significant activities for achieving more in your life. Reflection allows you to see what is working and what need adjustment.

It boosts your chances to do more and makes you better organized and consolidated.

How to do a quarterly review?

The easiest method is to list the small and big activities you did last month and quarter. This activity will give you an extensive list of everything you have accomplished. Then you can circle the activities related to your significant areas or goals for 2022. Identify activities helping you to get close to your goals.

Steps

  • Make a list of all activities
  • Categories these activities
  • Create a holistic view of your life
  • See which areas are lacking

Areas

  • Health
  • Finance
  • Spiritual
  • Personal growth
  • Professional growth
  • Family & relationship

Reflect on your accomplishment in each of these areas.

"Your decisions about allocating your personal time, energy, and talent ultimately shape your life's strategy." - Clay Christensen.

Following are my 2nd quarter goals and accomplishments.

Health: Maintained healthy eating, walking, yoga, and swimming. I will restart biking.

Finance: This area is lacking because of my investments in the stock market. There were many additional expenses. We had some mortgage pre-payment goals which we could not accomplish.

Spiritual: I read one book Celebrating Life, by Rishi Nityapragya and watched a few suitable video lessons.

This book gives a glimpse of a fascinating inner world we all hold inside us—body, mind, intellect, memory, ego, soul, and self-exploration.

Personal growth: I focused on this area the most and elevated my writing to a higher level.

  • I published nine articles, eight newsletters, 14 YouTube videos, and two digital products and maintained 91 days of daily writing habits. My YouTube & Medium are behind.
  • I have much better clarity on my writing topics and audience. I have to build a community of like-minded writer friends.
  • I had mastermind sessions with famous writers such as Justin Welsh, Dan Koe, and Benjamin Hardy.
  • Ship 30 For 30 plus Captains table has shifted my mindset from a writer's article to creating digital products.

Professional growth: I handled two PI plannings, two major releases and lots of changes at my work.

Family & relationship: we did not have a significant vacation but continued to create moments of family activities.

In April, we went to Mount Dora for a day and enjoyed a boat ride and lunch. In May, we went to Iowa. Most weekends, we went hiking on nearby trails. I played chess a few times with my daughter. She has a good player now. I used to play chess when I was in engineering college. We also had EAP counseling sessions for better mental health.

One purpose of sharing my quarterly review is to encourage you to do the same.

Did you do your monthly and quarterly reviews? If not, I recommend you spend some time and make a list of personal & professional accomplishments during the first two quarters of 2022.

I would love to know how the past quarter went for you. Do write to me with the highlights or any important lessons you learned.

Hello Reader, Last week, I came off an intense stretch of focused work. I call it extreme momentum. It’s the kind of mode where I move fast, ship hard, and almost forget to breathe. But when it ends? I crash. Not energy-wise — system-wise. Because during those bursts, I stop updating my tools. No OmniFocus. No Notion. Just building. And when I finally slow down, I’m staring at a mess: Outdated tasks Random notes & ideas Disconnected logs of what I did A system that no longer reflects my...
