Access to the Stones Further Down the Mason Jar

During May, I am proud of the following things.

I accompany my daughter to her Odyssey World Finals.

I was able to detach myself from work for the three days.

The same would have been difficult to do five years ago. Instead, I would have been checking my emails to support my team.

Now, I trusted that team would navigate themself, and they did.

My daughter learned pin trading and developed negotiation skills. She had an excellent performance and collected lots of memories.

I wrote daily for the last 35 days.

I joined a cohort-based program to enhance my writing skills.

As part of this program, I built a daily writing habit and published 35 ideas on Twitter & LinkedIn.

I plan to enhance and bundle them into digital products such as a career journey checklist (download - it is FREE for my newsletter subscribers. Use the discount code "newsletter" at the checkout page.)

By publishing daily, I am uncovering ideas underneath.

Tennis player Shelby Rogers illustrated a mason jar filled with stones in her recent Tweets. She said that's you and all your ideas. As you can see, you're chock full of them!

When you publish your ideas about one topic, you make way for the ideas underneath. Suddenly you have access to stones further down the mason jar.

In my first WoP mentor session on Friday, I shared this analogy: Imagine a mason jar of stones. That's you and all your ideas. As you can see, you're chock full of them! How do you get to the stones at the bottom? pic.twitter.com/I5nPDU7ZUZ

But after simply writing about what beckons my curiosity and publishing my whimsies for 2 years, I learned that the Personal Monopoly is not something to be "decided." It's something to be discovered through the act of publishing.

Thank you, Leo, for sharing this Tweet with me.

You can apply this idea to other areas of your life.

If you are not a writer, no problem, you can achieve a similar outcome by writing a daily journal.

Scratch the surface and start digging. You will find true YOU deep inside.

Book of the week

Twelve Angry Men - It is a very famous book. Later, they turned the book into a play and movie. My wife and I listened to it while driving around and today watched the film.

Atomic Habits - I am reading the Hindi edition of this book on my Kindle. It talks about tiny changes to your life, such as 1% improvements. I will share more on this book once I finish it.

Tool of the week

Priceline: During my trip to Iowa, I used Priceline and Avis to find rental cars. I found an excellent price on Priceline.

Another website to mention, I have been using Skyscanner.com for the last few years to find domestic and international air tickets.

Hello Reader, Last week, I came off an intense stretch of focused work. I call it extreme momentum. It’s the kind of mode where I move fast, ship hard, and almost forget to breathe. But when it ends? I crash. Not energy-wise — system-wise. Because during those bursts, I stop updating my tools. No OmniFocus. No Notion. Just building. And when I finally slow down, I’m staring at a mess: Outdated tasks Random notes & ideas Disconnected logs of what I did A system that no longer reflects my...

Hey Reader, This past week was about keeping momentum—and making a few resets. I wiped my entire OmniFocus setup—every task, every folder, every project. Gone. Next, I added what matters. Now, I run on a new trio that’s clicking perfectly: OmniFocus for tasks Notion for notes + reflections ChatGPT as my productivity coach The real unlock? A quick check-in with myself every 3–4 hours.
